Wagner-Arbitration

Welcome Tamari!

Tamari Tsertsvadze is a Georgian-qualified attorney and joins us from the new class of the International Dispute Resolution LL.M at Berlin Humboldt University. After her LL.B. studies at Tbilisi State University, Tamari also obtained an LL.M. in Comparative Private and International Law at New Vision University (Tbilisi, Georgia).

Prior to relocating to Germany, she served as the Head of the Legal Aid Center at New Vision University, which also functioned as a law clinic. In this role, she supervised law students, trained them in practical legal skills, and provided free legal assistance to vulnerable communities.

Her areas of practice include contract, labour, family, and commercial law. Since 2018, Tamar has been a member of the Georgian Bar Association with a civil law specialisation, and since 2025 she has been a member of the Mediators Association of Georgia. In 2017, she also participated in the International Commercial Mediation Competition organised by the ICC in Paris.

Tamari speaks Georgian and English.

We look very much forward to working with Tamari and have so many questions…

What was your first job?

My first job was as a lawyer at the Georgian Blind Union. This was one of the most fulfilling jobs I have had in my life. The people I worked with there inspired me in many ways.

Breakfast or dinner?

A nutritious breakfast – the best way to ensure an energetic start to the day.

What do you cook when you spontaneously have friends over for dinner?

Khachapuri, a traditional Georgian salad with walnuts, and fine Georgian wine are always a good idea for spontaneous gatherings.

Mountains or Seaside?

Seaside.

If you could meet someone famous, dead or alive, who would it be?

King (and not Queen) Tamar of Georgia from the 12th century. She was the first female monarch to rule the country, and the period of her reign is known as the Golden Age.

Which was your favorite place to live so far?

Batumi, Georgia – I wish to spend my later years there, enjoying morning coffee on the glorious boulevard and golden sunsets on the beach.

Digital or analogue?

Weirdly, this question always makes me think of photography, and my answer is always analogue. Seeing newly developed scans from a roll of film feels a bit like unwrapping a Kinder Surprise.

Favorite time of day?

Before bedtime, planning the agenda for the next day.

Window or aisle seat?

Window seats – more privacy and an opportunity to explore.

Country you wish to visit?

I would love to visit the English countryside: beautiful, quiet villages with characteristic architecture and quaint charm.

What song will always get you on the dancefloor?

“Show Me Love” by Robin S. – a timeless 90s track that simply does not need a remake.

Good advice you’ve received?

Confidence comes from preparation.

Biggest pet peeve?

Unannounced video calls.

Most played on your music playlist right now?

“SoulFood Society”, the album by MokuMoku, an alternative hip-hop band from Tbilisi, Georgia.

Favorite (public) holiday?

Easter, celebrated with my big family in my hometown.

Last new thing you learned?

Direct communication is efficient rather than rude.

Which movie can you watch over and over?

There are many, but Billy Wilder’s “The Apartment” always makes my New Year’s eves magical.

Three words to describe Berlin?

Historic, diverse, unique.

Three words to describe your hometown Sachkhere?

My sweet grannies.

Night owl or early bird?

Both – depending on the circumstances.

Favorite pizza topping?

Rucola.
