Bienvenido Francisco!

Francisco is a Colombian attorney and joins us from the new class of the IDR LL.M at HU. Next to his LL.B. studies at Católica de Colombia University, Francisco also obtained a specialization in International Contracting at Externado de Colombia University.

Francisco has worked on international commercial arbitration and investment disputes in the construction, mining, antitrust, M&A, sales of goods, and intellectual property sectors.

Francisco also has five years of experience in corporate and commercial dispute resolution before local courts, especially in Latin America.

Francisco speaks fluent Spanish, English, and some German and French.

We look very much forward to working with Francisco and have so many questions…

 

What was your first job?  

As a paralegal in the legal office of a City hall during the pandemic, so it was quite challenging working with the virus during the day and in the evenings having classes for my bachelor’s degree on-line. 

 

Breakfast or dinner?  

Breakfast.  

 

What do you cook when you spontaneously have friends over for dinner?  

 Arepas. You can mix them with salty and sweet stuff and they will taste great. 

 

Mountains or Seaside?  

Both.  

 

If you could meet someone famous, dead or alive, who would it be?  

 Alexander von Humboldt. I consider his trajectory very inspiring, especially when he went to South America. 

 

Which was your favourite place to live so far?  

 Punta del este – Uruguay. It has that European vibe mixed with latín taste.  

 

Digital or analogue?  

Digital for sure. 

 

Favourite time of day?  

The mornings. I am much more productive then. 

 

Window or aisle seat?  

Aisle, as you can leave your seat whenever you want. 

 

Country you wish to visit?  

Italy. 

 

What song will always get you on the dancefloor?  

Hold on to now – Kylie Minogue. 

 

Good advice you’ve received?  

Never expect something from people. 

 

Biggest pet peeve?  

Lies. 

 

Most played on your music playlist right now?

Favorite (public) holiday?  

Saint Peter and Saint Juan’s holiday in Colombia. It is a holiday that is specially focalised in my hometown, which is Neiva-Huila / Colombia.  

 

Last new thing you learned?  

Do not accept anything when you are extremely tired. 

 

Which movie can you watch over and over?  

Harry Potter saga. It is the best. 

 

Three words to describe Berlin?  

Chaotic, dreamy and energy. Very similar to Bogota in so many aspects. 

 

Three words to describe your hometown  

Warm, happiness, village. 

 

Night owl or early bird?  

Early bird. 

 

Favorite pizza topping?  

Prosciutto.
