Breaking news: Laura Halonen joins WagArb in an Of Counsel capacity as of 1 October 2019.
With 15 years of experience in international arbitration as counsel, arbitrator and secretary, Laura is a well-known expert internationally, in particular in the investment arbitration field.
She is originally from Finland, studied at the University of Oxford, and specializes in public international law with a particular emphasis on investment arbitration. Laura is admitted as solicitor in England and Wales and was part of major international law firms in London, Paris and Geneva prior to joining WagArb.
Currently, she is also on the ICSID list of conciliators and chair of the advisory board of the European Federation for Investment Law and Arbitration (EFILA). Laura regularly publishes and has speaking engagements in particular on investment arbitration related matters, and has been recognized as a “Future Leader” in every edition of Who’s Who Legal since 2017. Her working languages include English, Finnish and French.
Laura is already connected to the firm in many ways, and that is not only because she decided to move to Berlin more for personal than professional reasons: Florian Dupuy and her were colleagues at the same law firm in Geneva and her partner and Philipp Wagner used to work together closely about 10 years ago in Berlin.
We warmly welcome Laura on board and look very much forward to many mutual projects! Kippis!
