Wagner-Arbitration

Looking for the open mic

Sebastian von Massow joins WagArb as sixth trainee advocate this year and we look forward to working with him.

He completed his B.A. studies in English Literature and Modern Languages at the University of Oxford, Jesus College, and also holds a Graduate Diploma in Law from the City Law School in London.

Having grown up in London, the desire to explore the German side of his dual nationality led him to Hamburg, where he completed an equivalence exam at the Hamburg Higher Regional Court. This enabled him to begin the German legal traineeship a.k.a. #Referendariat.

Prior to beginning his traineeship in December 2019 in Niedersachsen, Sebastian was a paralegal at an international law firm, working with their competition and antitrust practice team. He was also a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission in 2015, a research assistant to Prof. Markus Kotzur from 2016 to 2018, and an editorial assistant at the @Archiv des Völkerrechts, a German journal on public international law.

When he is not doing law, Sebastian plays piano and guitar. He had been hoping to get a taste of Berlin’s open mic scene, but under the present circumstances will make do with exploring what the online community has to offer and is up for the challenge of contributing from behind his webcam.
