Felix Krumbiegel joins WAGNER Arbitration as Associate21 March 2018
Felix Krumbiegel worked with us as part of his Referendariat, the German mandatory two year legal traineeship, last year and has returned to the firm since the beginning of March as a fully-fledged Rechtsanwalt after recently completing the second state examination at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin.
He has studied at the Universities of Tübingen and Bonn and also holds a doctoral degree from the University of Bonn. In his doctoral thesis, which he wrote under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Matthias Herdegen, he dealt with the legal effects of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation in 2014.
Felix is specialized in dispute resolution and arbitration in particular as well as international business law and has also spent part of his Referendariat working in the arbitration practice of a major international law firm in Paris. During that time, he mainly dealt with investment arbitrations under the ICSID rules and assisted in advising clients on questions related to public international law.
Another key practice area of his is advising clients on regulatory compliance and environmental matters. He gained broad experience in this field during his time with a major international law firm in Berlin where he supported the firm in advising clients of the energy, mining as well as on- and off-shore industry on regulatory matters.
In order to complete his education as an international legal practitioner, he plans to commence his LL.M. studies in the field of dispute resolution at the University of Cape Town in 2019 while continuing to work for WAGNER Arbitration on a part-time basis.
We are very happy to, again, count him as one of our team members and look forward to working with him in his new capacity as Associate.
