Sophie’s back!

Sophie Eichhorn, former trainee advocate at WagArb (summer ’20), has returned to the firm to be a fully-fledged Rechtsanwältin.

Sophie spent a considerable part of her youth in the U.S., living in Washington, D.C. for nine years, where she obtained her high-school diploma and Abitur. She returned to Germany and studied law at the University of Heidelberg, the Università degli Studi Roma Tre in Rome and the Humboldt-University in Berlin.

In Heidelberg, Sophie was a student assistant at the Max-Planck-Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court in 2013. She also completed various internships, including with the German Marshall Fund of the United States in D.C., the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) in Rome, and with a large German law firm in Berlin.

Prior to her two-year legal traineeship aka Referendariat, Sophie worked for a member of the Bundestag. She then completed her Referendariat in Berlin, notably with WagArb and the European Commission.

Having passed the Second State Examination, Sophie now looks forward to rejoining the concert choir of the Sophienkirche in Berlin which will hopefully be able to perform live in concert again soon – most likely the Requiem by Gabriel Fauré. She has also been playing volleyball since highschool (Rookie of the Year Award `10).

We are very happy that Sophie has decided to join our firm fresh off her Second State Examination, and look forward to picking up the rewarding collaboration from last year again!
