Wagner-Arbitration

Willkommen Jonathan!

Jonathan joins us as a trainee advocate. Originally from Vechta in Lower Saxony, he studied law in Leipzig and Budapest, specializing in public economic and environmental law. After graduating, he worked as a research assistant at Linklaters and is currently completing his legal traineeship (Referendariat) at the Kammergericht Berlin. Before joining us for his current law firm rotation (Anwaltsstation), he worked at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action during his administrative law stage.

We look very much forward to working with Jonathan and have so many questions…

What was your first job?

Delivering pizza in a little Seat Mii. The best part? Earning money while cruising around with good music — and the occasional surprise of delivering to one of my former teachers. Small town perks.

Breakfast or dinner?

Breakfast — preferably Turkish.

What do you cook when you spontaneously have friends over for dinner?

Carbonara!

Mountains or Seaside?

Seaside.

If you could meet someone famous, dead or alive, who would it be?

Right now: Volodymyr Zelenskyy. I admire how he continues to stand his ground under immense pressure and genuinely acts in service of his people.

Which was your favorite place to live so far?

Tough choice — it’s a tie between Leipzig and Budapest. I made amazing memories in both.

Digital or analogue?

Digital for photography, analogue for (almost) everything else.

Favorite time of day?

Blue hour in summer.

Window or aisle seat?

If there’s enough space — window seat.

Country you wish to visit?

Kazakhstan.

Most played on your music playlist right now?

Desert Rose — Sting & Cheb Mami.

Favorite (public) holiday?

Easter — family time, spring weather, daffodils, and a long Easter breakfast.

Last new thing you learned?

On a train ride in Armenia, I met someone my age from the area with impressive knowledge of the country’s history. From our conversation, I took away a few basic words in Armenian and a genuinely interesting insight into the region.

Which movie can you watch over and over?

Forrest Gump.

Three words to describe Berlin?

Unpolished, resilient, creative.

Three words to describe your hometown Vechta?

Calm, humble, community-focused.

Favorite pizza topping?

Fior di latte.
