Lina Colitt Marull joins us as an intern. She grew up in Brazil and Berlin, and currently studies international law at Tilburg University, in the Netherlands. Lina also specialises in migration law and policy at the University of Amsterdam and is taking this internship as an opportunity to gain practical experience in the world of international arbitration.

Lina speaks fluent English, Spanish and Portuguese, and is working on her German. We look very much forward to working with Lina and have so many questions…

What was your first job? 

Selling merch at concerts – the loophole to see my favourite artists perform for free.

Breakfast or dinner? 

Dinner for the variety, but nothing beats a good weekend brunch.

What do you cook when you spontaneously have friends over for dinner? 

It does not happen often, but I occasionally make a good lasagna. Spontaneously, however, I always have some frozen pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese balls) to throw in the oven.

Mountains or Seaside? 

Mountains, but seaside for a good vacation.

Digital or analogue? 

Analogue. 

Favorite time of day? 

Sunset. And on the rare occasion I’m awake for it, sunrise.

Window or aisle seat? 

Window for a short flight, and aisle for a long one. 

Country you wish to visit? 

Peru – I have only heard great things.

Most played on your music playlist right now? 

All That She Wants – Ace of Base.

Biggest pet peeve? 

Talking very loudly during a movie or slow walkers.

Favorite (public) holiday? 

Snowy Christmas. But the one I miss most is Carnaval in Brazil – can’t beat the energy and costumes.

Which movie can you watch over and over? 

I love Inception, and I still understand something new about the plot every time I watch.

Three words to describe Berlin? 

Beautiful, chaotic and historic.

Three words to describe your hometown Brasília? 

Community, architecture, and dry. 

Night owl or early bird? 

Night owl, as much as I appreciate having the full day when waking up early.
