Charlotte joins us as a trainee advocate. She grew up in Frankfurt am Main and studied law at Humboldt University in Berlin with a specialization in international and national criminal law. Charlotte is currently completing her legal traineeship a.k.a Referendariat at the Kammergericht Berlin.

What was your first job?  

I used to be a piano teacher, mainly because I had just moved out and was looking for a way to get free access to a piano, since I could not afford one myself. 

Breakfast or dinner?  

I love both equally, so it feels like picking your favorite child… an impossible decision! 

What do you cook when you spontaneously have friends over for dinner?  

I open a box of crackers. 

Mountains or Seaside?  

Mountains, plus points if there are cows around. 

If you could meet someone famous, dead or alive, who would it be? 

Michelle Obama. I need to know her arm workout routine. And also because she is one of the most inspiring, strong and dignified people I can think of. 

Country you wish to visit?  

Mongolia! 

What song will always get you on the dancefloor?  

Every early 2000s pop song that I can sing along. 

Biggest pet peeve? 

People taking their shoes off in a public library. 

Most played on your music playlist right now?  

Always is and always will be everything from Loyle Carner.  

Favorite (public) holiday?  

Christmas, because I do not have to think about what to cook for dinner (which is one of the hardest tasks one faces in adulthood!) and of course because I get to see my family. 

Last new thing you learned?  

How Kyrgyzstan used to be a part of the Soviet Union. 

Which movie can you watch over and over? 

Lola rennt. 

Three words to describe Berlin?  

Best city ever. 

Night owl or early bird?  

Early bird, which unfortunately turns me into a grandma with a strict 11pm bedtime.  

Favorite pizza topping?  

Arugula and chili oil.
